Established in 2023, UConn Brewing Innovation is a student-centered initiative designed to connect Connecticut’s craft beer industry with the UConn’s research, teaching, and outreach mission. UConn Brewing Innovation emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration, and real-world industry exposure. It creates a space where students aren’t just learning about brewing; they’re actively engaging with it through events, applied projects, and partnerships with local breweries.
The initiative brings together expertise from the College of Engineering, the College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources, and the School of Business to support three core pillars: education, research, and community engagement. Through these efforts, students gain experiential learning opportunities that range from brewing science and product development to supply chain, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
By integrating agriculture, engineering, and business, UConn is uniquely positioned to support the craft brewing industry from farm to pint, while empowering students to be active participants in its future.
